  • 1. Much needs to be done to give Native Americans the opportunities and advantages non-Natives receive. Increased funds to the Indian Health Service can help decrease the differences in life expectancy between Natives and non- Natives. In addition, much larger sums of money need to be given to Native communities for schools, roads, and home construction and repair. Finally, a strenuous effort must be made to stimulate economic development and increase grants and loans to Native communities. Only after these things are done will Native health, culture, and economic well-being once again reach the quality that it used to possess and that the rest of America has always had access to.
