World War II World War II was a huge war that occurred from September 1, 1939 to September 2, 1945. This war involved the allied powers and the axis powers. The main Allied powers were Great Britain, The United States, China, and the Soviet Union. The leaders of the Allies were Franklin Roosevelt (the United States), Winston Churchill (Great Britain), and Joseph Stalin (the Soviet Union). The main Axis powers were Germany, Japan and Italy. The Axis leaders were Adolf Hitler (Germany), Benito Mussolini (Italy), and Emperor Hirohito (Japan). World War II started ten years after the Great Depression. People already had debt to pay off. Then a few years later this massive war started and put people more in debt. This war had a toll on a lot of countries, but Europe has more facts about it. World War II impacted the culture of Europe. World War II impacted the civilians of Europe greatly. A lot of people lost their jobs. Many buildings were destroyed. People who owned big businesses lost them because they were either in debt or the building got burnt down. Over 60 million people died during this war. Most people lost their families. Most farmers lost their land because of the atomic bomb. A lot of trade was lost. Most laws were changed after this war. The bombs and other gun warfare in town destroyed a lot homes. Europe changed laws and lost trust in other countries. The U.S. was on one side and the axis powers on the other side. Everything had to fly over Europe at one point. And they attacked Europe but not as much as other countries.People of Europe didn’t like how they got attacked so much, so some decided to commit suicide. People in Europe stopped trusting people. Europe was impacted through poverty. After the Great Depression people lost their stocks and most of their money. On top of all of that, ten years later World War II began and    people lost money again. All of their houses are being destroyed by the bombs and warfare. The citizens of Europe need to pay for all of the damage. Back then they didn't really have anything such as insurance. Everyone lost all the money they “got back” or saved up from when they lost their money in the stocks. This crisis led to malnourishment and poverty. People had to start to live on the streets. People from Europe had to sleep on the dirt and wouldn't have much food to eat. If they did have any food to eat it would be wild berries or animals they would have had to hunt. And most of that food wasn't cooked the best. That food caused salmonella, which most people didn't know how to cure back in that day. During this time no one could really travel outside the country. Everyone had to walk places to travel. Traveling wasn't very popular back then. The first airplane was made 26 years prior to the war. Not many people could go on planes yet. Only the wealthy could afford to travel. Since everyone lost a lot of money, most slavery ended. Since most wealthy people invested in stocks, they became less rich in a sense and lost almost 75% of their money. They would also have to pay for the damages of World War II. Famine was a big problem in Europe because people were not used to not having food in front of therm. Most people died in four to seven days because of malnourishment. Fights even broke out between people inside their own community because they fought for food. Some people fought for food because it was hard to get. Some people would even murder people to get the food they need to feed themselves and their families. Most people that died didn't get buried. Some were just left on the ground to eventually sink into it. This also changed how people lived today. People save their money or put it in banks. Not many people invest in stocks. Poverty during World War II killed people mentally and physically in Europe. Most people lost jobs because either the building burned down or they didn't have enough money to give to their employees. Most people couldn't afford any health care. If someone got injured they would have to fix it themselves. There were no paramedics that could really help. No one could call    because only the wealthy had phones. They couldn't afford any type of education because they didn't have much money. Some of the houses that did survive overheated and melted. Jews would pass away in a few days because they were hated in Germany. Jews didn't have any money. Jewish people would mainly spend their money on food. They would also pay off people to hide in their homes.  A lot of people died because of poverty. People would get diseases and not be able to be treated because they had little to no money. Trade would be the next option to pay people. They would trade anything they have for something like food or clothes. If someone something that was valuable, they were able to trade it in for food and some clothing. Some people would even give up their own children for food. These times were really tough on people. They would go to the extremes to live. There were situations where people would sell everything they had to get food. Poverty sent people in so much debt they would either commit suicide or suffer to death. Bathing was challenging because often times it would be in front of other people and it would be in a dirty river. Europe was seriously impacted when the atomic bombs were being released. Atomic bombs or just regular bombs; it still affected Europe greatly. Most of people's property was destroyed. They had to pay that back, but poverty in Europe was big at the time. There was an extreme loss of life during this time period. The atomic bombs even killed some of their own troops. Property, buildings, companies, and banks were destroyed by these bombs. They are still cleaning up in some parts of Europe where it was really bad. There was an extreme loss of life. It is terrible to think how many people were killed from one bomb. Since that happened, some laws have changed because it was too deadly and too costly. Smoke inhalation from the bomb injured and even killed some people within a 5 mile radius of the bomb. If you inhaled the smoke or were injured, it would be a really long waiting list    because so many people were injured from the bombs. The smoke from the bomb was so thick it got into people's eyes and made some blind. The second bomb was dropped not too long after the first one. The second bomb was  just as bad as the first one. There were more deaths with the second bomb. A lot of lives have changed because of this. Many people that still live today from that still live in debt. The second bomb is known for pretty much stopping the war from going on.  Although no atomic bombs directly hit Europe, Europe was still hit with other bombs and the atomic bomb affected Europe. Europe was devastated and heartbroken. The lives of Europe from the atomic bombing have been forever changed. The aftermath of all these bombs that hit Europe and hit around Europe was very upsetting. A lot of land was lost. Farmers lost their lifestyle. Crime rates went up. Many people became homeless because of all the homes that were destroyed. No one could come up with enough money to pay for all of the destruction. A lot of businesses were lost. The food couldn't be produced because most crops did not survive the blast from the bombs. Over 60 million people died in WWII. A lot of families were lost and abandoned. This was shortly after the Great Depression. When the stock market crashed everyone had lost their money because some people invested most of their money into the stocks. Most people couldn't get that money back. Everyone was broke. After ten years of trying to save up money from when they lost it, then World War II started. Everyone was more in debt than they ever were before. Some people had to pay other people to hide in their homes. In conclusion, the bombs of World War II destroyed people’s lifestyle and heritage.  Food wasn't really available at the time. People had to bathe in front of other people in a river. People would fight against each other in their own community. Farmers lost all their money because crops were destroyed. People are still cleaning up from WWII today. World War II
