  • 2. 2 With BH by Kinomap run over more than 100,000 km of geolocated videos all over the world uploaded by users themselves. Try to follow their rhythm under the same conditions at the time they were recorded: - If you have an i.Concept by BH machine or Dual Kit: the resistance/inclination motor of the machine will change automatically when the profile of ground does. - If you are an XKIT user, you will be in charge of modifying the resistance following indications given by the Bh by Kinomap App. Note that the Xkit is no longer supported by the App BH by Kinomap but you can always use it with Kinomap app.
  • 3. 3 1. Account
  • 4. 4 If you want to use BH By Kinomap, you have first to connect by using your Kinomap account. Once your login is successful, you can start your training session. If you do not log-off, you will remain logged next time you launch the App. If you do not have a BH by Kinomap/Kinomap account, please Sign In to get a free account. Sign up / Sign In
  • 5. 5 The default version is free, giving you access to a set of free videos as well as interval workouts. A subscription is required later on to get access to all eligible content including thousands of real life videos, a multiplayer mode, and many more. After the first login, the app can prompt you for an activation code. If you have one, enter it in the appropriate field settings to activate your subscription for the app. You can call the option >>add an activation code<< whenever you need later on. Activation code
  • 6. 6 You can also subscribe for the service, based on a monthly or yearly subscription, giving you access to enhanced features. Go to Settings >> subscribe to BH by Kinomap: Subscription After activation, see your subscription on my subscription:
  • 7. 7 2. Equipment Connection
  • 8. 8Thema | 21.05.2013 Compatibility The 30-pin connection is not supported anymore on the App Store, decision made by Apple.
  • 9. 9Thema | 21.05.2013 Bluetooth connection If you have a Bluetooth classic equipment, you need to pair it with the IOS Bluetooth settings before adding it to BH by Kinomap: - Go to the IOS Bluetooth settings: - Tap on your equipment to pair it: - Note: if you have a Bluetooth Smart (4.0) equipment, you have to add it to BH by Kinomap direcltly. Indeed, if you pair it first with the IOS Bluetooth settings, you will no longer see it in BH by Kinomap. Bluetooth Smart equipment generally have a ‘Smart’ logo:

  • 11. 11 Add the equipment to BH by Kinomap 2/2 - Your equipment is detected: - Connecting.. To make sure your equipment is connected, begin pedaling and check the speed value: Tap on ‘OK’ button and see it:
  • 12. 12 Additional sensor Using your fitness device with external sensor You can add an additional heart rate sensor to BH by Kinomap: Tap on the ‘+’ button: Select ‘Heart rate belt’: Your Heart rate belt is detected, tap on it: Check the rate value and tap on ‘OK’:

  • 14. 14 There are several lists of videos made available, on which you can choose the video you want to train on it during your workout session. There is a filter function to ensure you get access to the videos you are looking for (Featured, popular, most viewed, most recent, duration, distance, incline…) Videos selection For each video, you can see relevant information: its name, the contributor (who published the video), country, duration, distance, average of positive slope, average speed.
  • 15. 15 Playlists There are also a lot a playlists availables created by Kinomap or users themselves: Each playlist has a specific thematic, to train for 30 minutes for example, or visit a country. You can follow your progress on each playlist and each video that composes it. For the time being, you can’t manage your playlists directly from the app. Read more about it at page 34 of this user guide.
  • 16. 16 Start your workout Select your movement, mode and equipment. Wait few seconds to initiate the video, begin pedaling during it. To initiate your training session, press Start
  • 17. 17 Discovery and Challenge mode Challenge mode: the video plays at your speed, allowing you to perform the same overall effort as the video maker. If you're not fast enough, the video slowly decreases the framerate. If you're performing well, the framerate can be increased up to twice the original speed. Use this mode to compete in challenges like the Indoor Challenges, and to have export to 3rd party websites such as Strava with full coordinates and map of your virtual ride. - Discovery mode: the video plays at the original speed, pausing when your speed is reaching 0. Whatever your performance is, the video framerate is not altered. But you'll still see if you perform well by looking at the energy output produced, measured in Kinos. Note that export to 3rd party websites such as Strava will be limited to Watts and any additional data like cadence, heart rate, but will not display coordinates nor a map.
  • 18. 18 At the top of the screen are displayed relevant information : - The duration - Your heart rate beat (only if you add an additional heart sensor belt or if your equipment has an integrated one) - The instant produced power - The instant cadence - The instant speed - The distance Note: Due to a screen size limit, all these information are not displayed on the iPhone. Workout display At the right, you can switch between 3 tabs showing alternatively the map, the multiplayer ranking and a dashboard. At the bottom, the elevation chart will be very useful to manage your effort during all the training session.
  • 19. 19 If you want to pause or stop the workout, just stop pedaling or use the Pause button in the corner of the workout. Click on ‘resume training’ button to resume an unachieved workout. If you want to quit this activity, just confirm by tapping on ‘Quit’ Stop workout You can resume an activity later on from the video : Or from the ‘training log’ menu:
  • 20. 20 Multiplayer mode Join contestants all around the world and challenge them LIVE in our brand new multiplayer scheduled sessions, available from the homepage! Start easily a training esssion by taping on the ‘Join’ button (available 15 mins before and 2mins after the beginning): The activity starts and you can follow your ranking on the dashboard or the map.
  • 21. 21 Download a video You can download videos on your iPhone or iPad to train on them without internet connection: Once downloaded, you can see them in the ‘Offline videos’ menu: Choose the video quality: The video is downloading.. The is now downloaded.
  • 22. 22 Do you want to train in portrait or in landscape mode? Please select the suitable position of the tablet before you select a video. A change of the mode during training is not possible when using an iPhone or iPad. Specials Rotate 90°

  • 24. 24 Open the main menu on the left hand side to click on “Training log” . You can see here the history of your past workouts including name of the video you trained, date of that workout, performed duration and distance. Click on any specific workout to get all information. You can also go to https://www.kinomap.com/myactivities to see all your activities. Training logs
  • 25. 25 Your training log includes a map, a summary and a set of detailed charts reporting your past speed, power, cadence, heart rate. Note that the workout log can be automatically exported to various platforms including RunKeeper, Strava or Under Armour. Training logs

  • 27. 27 There are several ways to find the appropriate video. You can search by clicking on the search bar. Once you typed at least 3 characters, an auto completion search is made. You can also have a geographical search. Go to the main menu to select “Map”. Search

  • 29. 29 Go to the main menu to the Settings and set your user details including units, height, weight, birthday, gender, frontal area. These information affect the speed calculation. User Settings You can define your bike type and your fontal area. Rolling resistance and wind resistance are different according to your kind of bike. These changes also affect the speed calculation.
  • 30. 30 You can define default display settings for all your training session, but you are also able to change it during a training session. User Settings Video : - Video quality : choose the default quality of the videos (take into account your internet bandwith to avoid a freeze issue) - Alternate stream servers: enable it if you have some freezes during your training session - Mute video sound: every sounds of the app will be disabled. External display: - Mirroring mode : you can choose a display option when you use an external screen (only available with Apple TV or official Apple HDMI adapter) With an unofficial HDMI adapter,you’ll only have the ‘mirror this Screen’ option. MAP: - Choose you type of map you want to see during your training sesions. - Autozoom: when enabled, you’ll have a more accurate vision of the map to easily locate you.
  • 31. 31 Playlists Create and use your individual playlists of your favorite videos directly from your account on www.kinomap.com (not yet available from the app directly). You can share it for everybody (public) or only for your own. You’ll see this message once you added the video to a playlist. You can either select an existing playlist, or create a new one.

  • 33. 33 The App is optimized for an external display: please use an HDMI adaptor or Apple TV via Air Play. External display Once you are connected to your TV, you can choose 4 different views : - 1st external display mode : Video, elevation profile, dashboard and map are on your TV - 2nd external display mode : Video, elevation profile and dashboard are on the TV. You continue seeing the MAP on your equipment. - 3rd external display mode : You see only the video on the TV, and all the others information stay on the APP. - Mirror this screen : you see on your TV, what you see on the APP.
