Summer internship report: TOPIC: To find the effectiveness of the marketing strategies of Montex Ball Pens in the lower price segment(i.e. Rs 3-4 to Rs.15-17) Objective: To know the various reasons for which customers purchase pen. To know the market share of various pen producing companies in the ball pen market. To understand the buying behavior of the consumers. To study the existing organizational arrangement for the distribution of products. To analyze the effect of display on customer purchasing. To understand relatives influence on customers in the purchasing process. To determine Brand Loyalty and gainer / loser brands associated with Brand switching. To determine the major reason for 'Preferred' Brand.To determine comparative consumer brand preference rating among different types of pens. To determine comparative consumer perception of consumer for pens between Rs.3-Rs15 with reference to Montex Pens. To see whether the concept that is being developed is right or wrong. To understand the effectiveness of the packaging. Methodology: To conduct a survey using questionnaire method. Data collected is primary and secondary data through company, journals, internet, surveys, etc. Synopsis: The project deals with studying marketing strategies for the existing Montex products in the market, ways to improvise sales and achieving brand loyalty with customers. The project is divided into following phases: First phase: The first phase of the project includes deciding upon the marketing strategies for promoting the product in Rs 3- 15 range.It includes research on internet, collecting information from the internet by looking at the marketing strategies that other companies of the same categories are following. Second phase: The second phase of the project includes conducting survey by visiting the various places where the products are being sold and conducting a survey by visiting people and taking the feedback regarding the concept of the product which the company is planning to improve upon. Third phase: The third phase includes conducting a survey regarding the packaging and the cost through questionnaire method. It involves visit to the places where the product is being sold and to look at the various marketing offers of the companies of same category but different brands are following to attract the customers to buy their product. Fourth phase: It involves analyzing the field work that has been collected through surveys using questionnaire method and information collected through journals, internet, etc. and giving feedback on how to develop innovative marketing strategies for having an effective and attractive display to earn profits. It mainly involves analyzing every perspective of the field work done and provide recommendations to the company to improveupon the existing marketing strategies that company is following presently. Fifth phase: Rewinding of the research proposal.
