Historically, GM has used a number of methods to promote their products, including the use of dealer, retails and fleet incentives such as rebates, finance incentives and special lease programs. The level of incentives isdependent in large part upon the level of competition in the markets inwhich they operate and the level of demand for their products. Since early 2006, GM has executed a strategy, particularly in the United States, that combines an emphasis on value pricing (including the reduced prices on most2006 model year vehicles), enhanced vehicle content and improved Powertrainwarranties and the selective use of financial incentives. Additionally, as part of thisstrategy, in 2007 they sold almost 184,000 fewer vehicles to daily rental companiesthan in 2005 in the U.S., while steadily improving their profit margin on those sales.During 2008, GM will continue to price vehicles competitively, including offeringstrategic and tactical incentives as required. They believe this strategy builds thereputation of their products and brands and enhances residual value for their products, while supporting improved pricing per transaction. 14  Brand Product Image Product PriceProduct Description(USD) MPG: Up to 24 mpg city/34 mpg hwySeating: Up to 5 adults $10,895-$12,680 Towing Capacity:   No rating available Horsepower: 103hpMPG: Up to 16 mpg city/24 mpg hwy $24,690-32,826 Seating: Up to 6 adultsTowing Capacity: 1,000 lbsHorsepower: 300hpMPG: Up to 19 mpg city/29 mpg hwySeating: Up to 5 adults $28,825-$35,960 Towing Capacity:   No rating available Horsepower: 255hpMPG: Up to 15 mpg city/20 mpg hwySeating: Up to 2 adults $23,845-$28,880 Towing Capacity:from 4,300 lbs, to 6,500 lbs Horsepower: 301hpMPG: Up to 19 mpg city/28 mpg hwySeating: Up to 2 adults $22,785-$28,465 Towing Capacity:   No rating available Horsepower: 260hpMPG: Up to 15 mpg city/24 mpg hwy $100,000+ Seating: Up to 2 adultsTowing Capacity: No rating availableHorsepower: 443hpMPG: Rating not available $57,590-$64,000 Seating: Up to 7 adultsTowing Capacity: 8,200 lbsHorsepower: 393hpMPG: Up to 18 mpg city/29 mpg hwySeating: Up to 5 adults $20,695-$26,325 Towing Capacity:   No rating available Horsepower: 252hp $40,561+ 1.9 CDTi Elite [150] 5dr EstateDiesel Automatic1.3 VVT JLX 3dr 4x4 $15,529+ Petrol Manual 15
